Breaking: Measles Cases Surge Globally! Is Your Region at Risk? Find Out Now!

On March 8, 2024, a significant increase in measles cases has been observed worldwide.

In Canada, most confirmed cases are linked to individuals who contracted the virus while traveling abroad. Travelers leaving Canada are at a higher risk of exposure to measles.

However, there have been no recent laboratory-confirmed cases in Manitoba.

Vaccination remains the most effective protection against measles and other diseases.

Public health authorities recommend getting up-to-date with vaccinations for eligible individuals who have not yet done so.

If you are unsure about your immunization status, you can request your immunization record online.

For more information on vaccine awareness and resources, visit the UM Immunization/Vaccine Awareness page at the University of Manitoba.
