The National Weather Service has issued flood advisories for regions extending from parts of Illinois, through Virginia, and up to Rhode Island. Concurrently, the same storm system has affected the Great Lakes area, resulting in several inches of snowfall in Wisconsin and Michigan from Wednesday through Thursday morning.
Unfortunately, the severe weather conditions have led to multiple fatalities. On Wednesday, a 70-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman lost their lives when their vehicles were crushed by fallen trees.
In Campbell County, Kentucky, a young man died in a traffic accident during Tuesday’s storms, as reported by Governor Andy Beshear during a news conference on Wednesday.
Additionally, KJRH-TV reported that on Monday, a 46-year-old homeless woman in Tulsa, Oklahoma, died after seeking shelter in a storm drain.
