Rescue teams are currently engaged in a search for a family of five who are feared to be trapped in a rockslide in Hualien, Taiwan, following the country's largest earthquake in 25 years, which has already claimed the lives of at least 10 individuals.
Two bodies have been discovered in Taroko National Park, a renowned tourist destination known for its rugged, mountainous landscapes, located approximately 150 kilometers (90 miles) from Taipei.
Additionally, at least four other individuals were found deceased in the park, though authorities are still working to confirm their identities.
The family, surnamed You, had embarked on a hiking trip after visiting ancestral sites as part of the traditional grave-sweeping observances.
Meanwhile, in the city of Hualien, efforts are underway to dismantle a five-story building that was left severely tilted by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck on Wednesday.
The quake caused extensive damage to numerous buildings across the island, triggering rockfalls and mudslides that blocked roads, damaged vehicles, and resulted in over 1,000 injuries.
