Severe weather wreaked havoc in Kentucky and Tennessee on Tuesday, with a possible tornado causing damage to mobile homes and uprooting trees. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported, but there have been injuries and significant structural damage.

Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency in Kentucky, where collisions resulted in injuries. 

The National Weather Service issued tornado watches for over 16 million people across several states, with flash flood watches in effect for others

In Boyd County, Kentucky, photos from the Emergency Management office showed tornadic damage of at least EF1 intensity, with two mobile homes displaced or rolled. In Sunbright, Tennessee, the Schubert Funeral Home was destroyed, shocking its owner, Billy Glen Kennedy.

Mayor Linda Gorton of Lexington, Kentucky, reported one weather-related injury and various emergencies, including trees crashing into homes and structure fires caused by downed power lines. Beshear confirmed EF1 tornadoes in Nelson County and Anderson County.

The severe weather continued into Wednesday, with heavy snow and gusty winds expected in the Great Lakes and the Northeast. Wisconsin was under a winter storm warning, and flood watches were issued from Indiana to New Jersey.

The mid-Atlantic and Florida were under a severe weather risk, with the potential for heavy, wet snow and sleet in the Northeast. Upstate New York and northern New England were expected to face significant snow accumulations, potentially leading to hazardous travel conditions.

The Weather Prediction Center also issued a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over the Florida Peninsula, with the potential for frequent lightning, severe wind gusts, hail, and possible tornadoes.

These storms followed a wet Monday where unconfirmed tornadoes, hail, strong gusts, and heavy rain battered parts of the South.
