Deadly Tornadoes Tear Through Southeast U.S., Leaving 3 Dead and 200,000 Without Power

Severe weather continued its rampage through parts of the U.S. on Wednesday, causing extensive damage and leaving over 200,000 people without power.

In the southeastern U.S., three individuals lost their lives due to strong storms and at least one confirmed tornado. One victim was 22-year-old Bryce Edward Hentnick, who tragically died when a tree crashed onto his car in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

Another fatality occurred in Columbia, located 50 miles south of Nashville, after a tornado touched down. Witness Bob Booth described the chaos: "I get up and look out, and it was all hell breaking loose outside."

The storm also resulted in widespread power outages in northeastern Tennessee, prompting a temporary ground stop at Nashville’s airport by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Further east, near Charlotte, North Carolina, another person lost their life when a tree fell onto their vehicle. Debris was scattered across the affected areas in the aftermath of the storms.

Gaston County officials reported significant storm damage in various municipalities. The severe weather has left more than 200,000 customers without power in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.

This severe weather comes after tornadoes struck Oklahoma and parts of the Midwest earlier in the week, affecting Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.
