Sabrina Carpenter's track "Espresso" has risen to the number one position on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, while Kendrick Lamar's song "Not Like Us" has debuted at the top of the Billboard Global 200.
This marks the first time either artist has achieved this feat.
The Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, which were launched in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories worldwide, as compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 includes data from around the world, while the Global Excl. U.S. chart focuses on territories excluding the United States. Rankings are determined by a formula that considers official-only streams from subscription and ad-supported audio and video music services, as well as download sales from full-service digital music retailers worldwide, excluding sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites.
Carpenter's "Espresso" climbed from the third position to the top spot on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 59.6 million streams (up 7%) and 3,000 sales (up 15%) outside the U.S. from May 3-9. This achievement marks her first time leading this chart. The track had previously achieved her first top 10 position on the list.
In addition, "Espresso" has secured its second week at number one on the Official UK Singles Chart, marking Carpenter's first number one on this chart as well.
Meanwhile, Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things" has risen to number two on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, Artemas' "I Like the Way You Kiss Me" has dropped to number three, FloyyMenor and Cris Mj's "Gata Only" remains at number four, and Taylor Swift's "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone, has fallen to number five after its initial two weeks at number one.
On the Global 200, Lamar's "Not Like Us" has debuted at number one with 108 million streams and 17,000 sales worldwide since its release on May 5. This track is part of a series of diss tracks exchanged between Lamar and Drake. Notably, the song's 108 million global streams represent the highest weekly total among rap songs since the inception of the Global 200, surpassing Drake's "Way 2 Sexy," featuring Future and Young Thug, which drew 96.9 million streams in its first week.
"Not Like Us" has also entered the Global Excl. U.S. chart at number nine, marking Lamar's third top 10 entry on this chart.
Additionally, Tommy Richman's "Million Dollar Baby" has jumped to number two on the Global 200 in its second week, with 93.8 million streams (up 86%) and 7,000 sales (up 63%) worldwide. This song has also reached the top 10 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, climbing from 75 to eight, driven by 35.8 million streams (up 184%) outside the U.S.
Overall, Lamar's "Euphoria" has soared to number four on the Global 200, while Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has entered the top five, climbing from six to five.
