Olivia Munn's Brave Decision: A Hysterectomy for Health and Family

Atress Olivia Munn continues to share her journey since being diagnosed with breast cancer last year. In a recent interview with Vogue, she revealed that she recently underwent a hysterectomy to address the exhausting side effects of cancer treatment medication. Munn made the decision to remove her uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries to prioritize her health and be present for her family.

The hysterectomy, which took place last month, was a significant decision for Munn. She explained that while it improves her quality of life, it also means she won't be able to carry any future children. Munn and comedian John Mulaney, who welcomed their son, Malcom, in 2021, had discussed expanding their family. Before the hysterectomy, Munn underwent another round of egg retrieval, hoping to create embryos for potential surrogacy.

The couple was overjoyed when they were informed that they had two healthy embryos, eliminating the need for further procedures and potential risks.

Munn's battle with cancer began last year when she was diagnosed with Luminal B cancer in both breasts. She underwent a double mastectomy as part of her treatment. Despite the challenges, Munn is grateful for the treatment options available to her and the possibility of having more children in the future.
