DEA's Shocking Revelation: Ordering Illegal Pills as Easy as Pizza Delivery!

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has issued a stark warning to Congress, highlighting the alarming accessibility of illicit pills. According to DEA Administrator Anne Milgram, acquiring these pills is as effortless as ordering food delivery through a smartphone app. Milgram emphasized the severity of the situation, stating that within a few clicks, individuals can have pills delivered to their homes, drawing parallels to popular food delivery services like Uber Eats.

Milgram further underscored the tragic consequences of illegal drug use, noting that the U.S. is losing an average of 22 teenagers aged 14 to 18 every week. She emphasized the urgent need for action, calling the situation a national tragedy.

In addition, Milgram discussed the challenges faced by the DEA in its efforts to combat drug cartels. She mentioned that the DEA has been waiting for nearly a year for one of their work visas to be approved by the Mexican government. These visas are crucial for DEA personnel to enter Mexico and investigate the drug cartels responsible for trafficking illicit pills to the U.S.

Milgram highlighted the DEA's ongoing efforts to combat drug cartels, noting that they are currently conducting 2,000 active investigations into the Sinaloa and Jalisco cartels. She also mentioned that seven out of ten illicitly made pills contain some form of fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid responsible for thousands of deaths each year in the U.S.

Milgram concluded by urging Congress to allocate more funds to the DEA to enhance its resources and capabilities in combating the influx of illicit drugs into the United States.
