Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele strongly criticized current RNC co-chair Lara Trump for a recent statement she made about her father-in-law, Donald Trump. Lara Trump claimed that it is "pretty obvious" the former president accepts the results of the 2020 election, prompting Steele to question her statement.
"What the hell is she talking about?" Steele asked on MSNBC. "Did she not just hear his rally? Has she not been paying attention to what this man has been saying for the last five years?"
At a rally in New Jersey, Donald Trump falsely asserted that Democrats had "rigged" the 2020 election, a claim he has repeated since before the voting even began. Steele emphasized that Trump does not, in fact, accept the election results. "Of course he doesn’t accept the election results," Steele stated. "Stop it."
