On Tuesday, a Los Angeles Metro Rail train collided with a University of Southern California (USC) bus, resulting in 55 injuries and leaving two individuals in critical condition, officials reported.
The incident occurred on Exposition Boulevard in the Exposition Park neighborhood around noon, local time, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The USC bus was reportedly carrying only the driver, but several train passengers were injured in the collision. Following the crash, firefighters and paramedics evaluated and treated at least 55 people, as stated by LAFD in an update on Tuesday afternoon.
Among those affected, two people were transported to a local hospital in serious condition, 16 were transported in fair condition, and at least 37 individuals were treated and released at the scene.
