When Demi Moore, 61, arrived at the Met Gala on Monday, she captured everyone's attention with her choice of attire for the evening, which followed the theme of "The Garden of Time." Her outfit, a stunning heart-shaped dress designed by Harris Reed, was paired with a Cartier necklace, completing her look with elegance and style.
Fashion stylist Brad Goreski shared on Instagram that the dress was custom-made by Reed using a 60-year-old panel of silk wallpaper, meticulously embroidered over 11,000 hours, and adorned with hand-painted chiffon petals. Despite its intricate design, Moore mentioned in an interview with Vogue that the dress was surprisingly lightweight.
Reed explained that the inspiration behind the dress was the floral theme of the Cartier necklace. The entire gown was crafted from vintage wallpaper, repurposed into a Victorian-style masterpiece. However, the complexity of the dress posed a challenge, as evidenced by Moore's humorous Instagram story showing her struggling to sit comfortably in a car on her way to the gala.
The 2024 Met Gala's theme, "The Garden of Time," inspired many celebrities to embrace floral motifs, with some even carrying bouquets of flowers on the red carpet.
Moore's appearance at the Met Gala follows her recent performance in the FX series "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans." She is also set to attend the Cannes Film Festival for her upcoming body horror movie "The Substance."
