The body of a fifth individual from the Baltimore Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse has been discovered. Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez, aged 49 and hailing from Glen Burnie, Maryland, was identified as the latest victim. His body was found by Unified Command salvage teams in a red truck, along with one of the missing construction vehicles that was reported lost during the bridge collapse in March. The recovery operation was carried out by the Maryland Transportation Authority Police and the FBI.
Colonel Roland L. Butler, Jr., Superintendent of the Maryland Department of State Police, expressed condolences, stating, "We remain committed to the ongoing recovery efforts, recognizing that behind each person lost in this tragedy is a loving family."
Previously, the bodies of Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, aged 35, Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, aged 26, and Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, aged 38, were also recovered. At the request of the family, the name of the fourth victim, found last month, has not been disclosed.
