Noelia Voigt recently announced her decision to step down from her role as Miss USA, citing the need to prioritize her mental health.
The beauty pageant contestant, who was crowned on September 29, 2023, in Reno Tahoe, made the announcement on Instagram.
In her statement, Voigt expressed gratitude for her journey as Miss USA, representing Utah and later the USA at the Miss Universe pageant. She described her decision to resign as "very tough," but ultimately necessary.
Voigt, 24, reflected on her pageantry journey, emphasizing the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in achieving her dreams. She acknowledged that her resignation might come as a surprise to many but advised her followers to prioritize their physical and mental well-being.
Miss USA's website had previously praised Voigt as embodying the qualities of a transformational leader and a force for good.
As an Interior Design student, she dreams of establishing her own design firm and hosting a TV show where she can help families in need of home makeovers.
Voigt has also been recognized for her advocacy work in raising awareness about dating violence and prevention.
In response to Voigt's resignation, a spokesperson for Miss USA stated, "We respect and support former Miss USA Noelia Voigt’s decision to step down from her duties." The organization is currently working on plans for a smooth transition of responsibilities to a successor, and an announcement regarding the crowning of the new Miss USA is expected soon.
