Senator Tim Scott refused to give a direct answer when asked if he would commit to accepting the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, regardless of the winner. During an appearance on “Meet the Press,” the Florida Republican avoided questions about the election, stating that there would be no issues since Donald Trump is already the inevitable victor.
"At the end of the day, the 47th president of the United States will be President Donald Trump," Scott said, hinting at his potential consideration as a vice presidential pick.
When pressed for a simple "yes or no," Scott replied, “That is my statement.” Despite further questioning from the moderator, Kristen Welker, Scott continued to assert, “The American people will make the decision, and the decision will be for President Trump.” He also criticized the network, accusing NBC of being biased: “This is why so many Americans believe that NBC is an extension of the Democratic Party.”
Scott remained firm in his stance, stating, “At the end of the day, I said what I said. I know that the American people, their voices will be heard, and I believe that President Trump will be our next president. It’s that simple.” Meanwhile, Trump, who has consistently claimed that the 2020 election was rigged, has left open the possibility of challenging the results of the 2024 election. He told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “If everything’s honest, I’d gladly accept the results. If it’s not, you have to fight for the right of the country.”
