American Tourist's Shocking Library Stunt in Moscow Leads to Arrest and Tragic Discovery

An American tourist in Russia has been arrested for "violating public order" and is currently in custody for 10 days, as per a Moscow court's decision on Tuesday.

According to reports from REN TV, a local television station, William Russell Nycum was drinking with friends at a bar before allegedly entering a children's library in Moscow.

The court stated that Nycum, in accordance with the administrative offense protocol, consumed alcohol and was later found naked in the yard, displaying clear disrespect for society, citizens, and public order, leading to his detention by police officers.

Reports suggest that Nycum began undressing once inside the library.

The TV station released a video showing Nycum near the library, along with photos displaying his belongings inside.

One photo indicated a shattered window. Authorities were alerted to the incident just before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, when the Fruitland Police Department and emergency medical services were called to a residence regarding an unconscious woman. Upon arrival, they found Beatrice Kay Gentry unresponsive in the bathtub. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit took over the investigation and identified Jeremy Gentry, her son and housemate, as the suspect.

The cause and manner of Beatrice Kay Gentry’s death are pending autopsy results, and police have not disclosed a possible motive.

Maryland State Police Forensic Crime Scene Technicians processed the scene, leading to Jeremy Gentry's arrest on Monday morning without incident. He is awaiting a bond hearing, while the investigation continues involving the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Snow Hill Police Department, and the Fruitland Police Department.
