Weather Alert: Dallas Faces Flooding, Hail, and Cold Front - Stay Informed!

North Texans are experiencing persistent wet weather, with recent rain prompting the National Weather Service in Fort Worth to issue a flood watch for Dallas County and surrounding areas near and south of Interstate 20 until 1 p.m. Monday.

An updated advisory on Monday morning narrowed the flood watch to areas south of Dallas, lasting until 7 p.m. Locations most vulnerable to flooding include low-lying, urban, and poorly drained areas.

The Dallas-Fort Worth forecast indicates a 20% to 40% chance of rain and storms on Monday, with the majority expected to arrive late morning and persist into the afternoon. Storms are predicted to intensify in East and Central Texas, posing a risk of large hail and damaging winds in those regions.

As storm chances diminish Monday evening, a cold front is forecasted to move in.

Despite the cold front, high temperatures for the week will remain in the 80s, with lows in the 60s. Tuesday is expected to be seasonably warm and dry, before rain chances return later on Wednesday and Thursday.

The detailed forecast includes mostly sunny and warm weather for Tuesday, with lows around 62 and highs reaching 85, accompanied by northwest winds at 10 mph. Wednesday is predicted to be mostly sunny and warm, with thunderstorms arriving in the evening. Lows are forecasted at 64 and highs at 88, with southeast winds at 10-15 mph.

Thursday is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, lows near 68, highs around 79, and east winds at 10 mph. Friday and Saturday should be partly cloudy and warm, with Friday's lows at 66, highs at 85, and north winds at 10 mph, and Saturday's lows at 68, highs at 89, and southeast winds at 10-15 mph.
