Shocking Explosion in South River Leaves One Dead – What Really Happened?

A tragic incident unfolded in South River, New Jersey, on Thursday, resulting in the loss of life following a house explosion. 

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office released a statement indicating that authorities were called to a residence at approximately 7:03 p.m. in response to reports of an explosion. Upon arrival, police discovered two males who had sustained severe injuries in the blast. One of the victims, identified as 62-year-old Kevin Gilbert from South River, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment, as confirmed by the prosecutor’s office. Investigators are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the explosion. South River is situated approximately 27 miles south of Newark, New Jersey.
